Drivers > Import a driver
Drivers for standard RM hardware are provided by default. However, if you have other hardware you may need the appropriate drivers. These drivers must be imported into the RM Management Console to enable them to be included in future computer builds.
For some types of driver, you must select the piece of hardware (device) with which the driver should be associated. For example, this might be a network card, a sound card, or a modem.
From the File menu, choose Import, Driver. The Import Driver window is displayed.
Click the Browse button. Locate the driver to be imported and then click Open. The driver file must have a .inf, .msi, .exe or .cab extension, and must be in a folder with no unrelated files.
If you have selected an .inf file, the information in the Import Driver window will automatically be populated. If you have selected a .cab, .msi, or .exe file, you must enter the driver details.
To specify the operating systems with which the driver is compatible, click the Select button. The Select Operating Systems window is displayed.
To add a compatible operating system, in the 'Available operating systems' list, select the operating system and click the > button, or double-click the system name.
To remove the association, in the 'Selected operating systems' list, select the operating system you do not want to associate with the driver and click the < button, or double-click the system name.
Click OK.
In the 'Devices associated with this driver' section of the Import Driver window, click the Choose button.
If you have selected a .cab, .msi, or .exe file, select 'Show all devices detected on the network' or 'Show devices on computer'.
If 'Show devices on computer' is selected, click the Choose button and select the required computer.
To add a device with which the driver should be associated, in the 'Available devices' list, select the device and click the > button, or double-click the device.
To remove the association, from the 'Associated devices' list, select the device you do not want to associate with the driver and click the < button, or double-click the device.
Click OK to close the Associate Driver With Devices window.
Click the OK button. The Import Driver window closes and the driver is listed in the right-hand pane.
